, Ph.D. is Croll Senior Curator of American Paintings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a post she has held since 2001. She has published extensively on John Singer Sargent, Dennis Bunker and on women artists and collectors. She has lectured at museums and other cultural institutions across the United States and abroad. Her most recent book is the critically acclaimed and highly praised Sargent’s Daughters: The Biography of a Painting
